A bus that crashed into a river on Christmas Eve after falling off a bridge in Spain has now claimed the seventh life, according to emergency authorities. In the northwest Galicia region, rescuers pulled a woman’s body from the Lérez river on Monday.
The bus from Lugo to Vigo plummeted from a height of around 30 meters into the swiftly moving river, injuring two persons, including the driver. According to officials, the crash may have been caused by the weather. According to reports, the bus driver’s alcohol and drug tests were negative.
On Christmas Day, after discovering six dead, rescue teams originally called their search off close to the village of Pedre, which is not far from Santiago de Compostela, the regional capital of Galicia.
