Right-wing former president Jair Bolsonaro will be a part of the Brazilian Supreme Court’s investigation into the storming of Brazilian government buildings. Mr. Bolsonaro is the first person to be mentioned as possible behind the unrest on January 8th.
It occurred shortly after Mr. Bolsonaro published a video in which he questioned the validity of the presidential election held in October. By making such claims, Mr. Bolsonaro, according to the prosecution, may have encouraged a crime. On Friday, they requested the Supreme Court include the former president in the investigation.
According to the Bolsonaro video, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was not elected; instead, the Supreme Court and Brazil’s electoral body chose him.
