US Vice President Joe Biden has stated that he has “no regrets” about not making a statement about the discovery of classified documents in his private office before the midterm elections. The US attorney general has appointed a special counsel to investigate the situation.
After serving as vice president, he used an office there. Later, classified documents were discovered at his house. Mr. Biden remarked, “I think you’re going to find nothing there.” After being questioned by a reporter about why he did not reveal the documents in November after they were discovered, he responded.
During a Thursday tour of a California beach town that had been severely affected by weeks of storms in the western US, he said, “I have no regrets. “I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do. It’s exactly what we’re doing.” It was the first time Mr. Biden has spoken in public about the classified files. The president has faced criticism, especially from Republicans, for the delayed disclosure of the document discovery.
